Recordings of the songs
The song link will take you to another page. For most songs you will see an audio or video link in the box. You may have to hunt around. Listen to the songs! This helps you know what you are trying to recreate and you will play them much better!
•Short warm up: (1 minute)
Scales (5 minutes) Focus on 1 scale and work it to be accurate Tongue up- slur down. Some will be one octave and some will be two octave. Practice how you want to perform. Focus on a different scale each day of the week.
•Chromatic scale: (5 minutes) Spend time on this EVERYONE will play this scale in the audition. It should be slurred UP and DOWN. Practice very very slow for accuracy and once you can play it correctly 3 times in a row at a speed then speed it up a little.
•Etude: (10 minutes) This is designed to be difficult for the best players. Start with the basics if needed. Read the notes and do the fingers, work on individual measures. Ect.
•Choose a band song (10 Minutes)
Work On a Song (10 Minutes) listen to the recording of the song ( link below.) Work on sections of the song, the hard stuff, look up fingerings, work it slowly. Listening to the song counts as practice too!
•Finish with a scale you know and run the chromatic one more time (1 minute)
